From the viewpoint of a very skeptical individual who is incredibly frugal, let me just say that if you are half contemplating buying a ST or are just curious as to what it feels like to hold this thing; I can summarize this review in two words. Buy one.
The lead time can seem daunting; waiting a couple of months to get a custom blaster such as this can seem agonizing but the results speak for themselves. The Spring thunder is an incredibly well built blaster with a weight that feels realistic to an 870. For two years I kept reading reviews, watching videos on YouTube and contemplating purchasing one of these, the only regret I have is not having bought one sooner. I would highly recommend this if you are considering obtaining a high end blaster and would strongly encourage you to give Frontline a chance. The Chimera which I purchased earlier this year has cycled approx. 1,000 darts and has been easily modified and maintained and is still barely showing signs of wear. As skeptical as I was browsing for custom blasters earlier this year I am already in the process of looking into an FDL or perhaps a Woozi. If you have any questions about lead times, production or options for your build, the staff from frontline are very knowledgeable and typically reply day of. With the recent addition of the ST color configurator, creating your build to your exact specification takes the guesswork out of what it may look like and what it WILL look like. I would highly recommend watching the assembly guide for the ST regardless of purchasing an assembled blaster or a DIY kit.
To summarize the ST however, it is by far and a way much better than you expect it to be.

I have used this in many nerf wars and I love this shotgun so much. It can compete with my friend’s modded Strongarm (range wise and multi-hit wise), and it is totally customizable. I used friends, and plan on purchasing one myself. My only complaint is that the tip isn’t orange, you have to by that for $4+. And it’s a little pricy. But it is totally worth it. If you aren’t convinced, watch some reviews on youtube, namely Coop772 and LordDraconical. Great job gdop!
